It is the dying days of Republic. The Coils of Empire grow throttling the last remnants of hope. The Galaxy is in tatters. The wounds of CLONE WAR still fresh. Heroes and Villains alike have fled and are now lurking in the far corners of known space.
The waste-land world of CYNABALE is one such place. Host to many who have lost their way. Among them a forgotten weapon bides it’s time. Along with genius, a penitent and a fool. Each have denied the call of destiny once. Yet The Force has a plan for each of them.
Each aware of a lurking horror that will shape the fate of galaxy, forever…
Chapter One: Articles of Faith
The moon of Daxos orbits the Mid Rim planet of Ankus. An inhospitable and frozen wasteland, Daxos has recently been taken over by the Empire and mined for ice needed to keep the Imperial machine turning. As well as a prison encampment being set up on Daxos, there are a few hardy individuals who choose to work alongside the prisoners or otherwise settle in the few regions which can support life.
You are one of the inhabitants of Daxos – either an Imperial prisoner working out your sentence in indentured servitude, or else a free spirit working there for your own ends.
You are aware that you are Force sensitive, and following a number of visions you have found yourselves under the tutelage of a grizzled hermit known as Pyjak – an old survivalist who tells tales of the Force and of the Jedi otherwise outlawed and suppressed throughout the Empire, who has been teaching you to develop your connection to the Force and your abilities, both collectively and individually.
On the day the game starts, you have been asked by Pyjak to come round and see him when your work shifts end, as he has something important he needs to tell you…
Lasa Styngen, Sentinel Artisan
Auberyn Brick, Seeker, Hunter
Jar’ren’tarthi, Mystic Advisor
Agatha Hungatir, Warrior Aggressor
Auberon Bryck, Seeker Hunter
Name: Agatha Hungatir
Offences: First-degree homicide, Assault of an ISB Agent.
Identifying marks: like all Mirialans, Agatha wears facial tattoos representing his history. In particular: twin stars above his right eye, signifying his birthworld and clan, a thin chain beside his eye signifying duties and debts, and a serrated blade down the cheekbone signifying a violent adolescence.
Predictable behaviour: Agatha is a former mob enforcer, eager to supply muscle to a paying employer. He likes to pick fights, particularly against something bigger, so he can mark his skin with the ‘glories’ of his victories. Since his arrest, Agatha has been unable to access the necessary implements to mark his face with a tattoo signifying the crime he’s been locked up for.
Do not be complacent with this prisoner.
Prisoner statement: Agatha killed Wookie. You should run. You run away now.
Name: Auberon Bryck
Offense(s): Fraud, Treason, Manslaughter, Third-degree homicide, Second-degree homicide, First-degree homicide, Arson in the Imperial Docks
Prisoner Statement: The only crime I have committed is to betray my family, a crime I freely admit. My line is one contains the most extraordinary collection of thieves, rogues and murderers ever seen in the galaxy.
Obviously they are mostly senators and arms dealers. I have lived my life in a bubble of privilege, and it is only recent events that awakened me to the cruelty and callousness of the galaxy.
I am no one’s executioner nor will I ever be.
My only regret is to my younger brother and sister, who I plead to wake up and realise the true nature of things.
